Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may pack a
bigger battery, but this feature might be
gone
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to bring in several upgrades. While it is
expected to feature a bigger battery than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the S26 Ultra could miss
out on camera system.
Even though the Samsung Galaxy S25 series has just launched, the rumours
around its successor are already making the rounds. The Samsung Galaxy
S26 series is anticipated to launch in early 2026. Just like its predecessor, the
S26 series may debut with three smartphones: the standard Galaxy S26,
S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra. However, since the S25 Edge launch is yet to be
announced, its successor still lies in an unknown area. But we do know a few
details around the high-end Galaxy S26 Ultra. Recent rumours indicate that
the phone may carry a bigger battery, as compared to its predecessor. But, to
do so, the Galaxy S26 Ultra's camera system may have to pay the price.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Bigger battery but one-less camera lens
According to @Vhsss_God on X (formerly Twitter), Samsung is exploring
stacked battery technology for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which could enable it to
surpass the 5,000mAh capacity of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. According to reports,
the company has already developed a prototype featuring a 5,500mAh
stacked cell.
Interestingly, an earlier report suggested that the Galaxy S26 Ultra might even
feature a massive 7,000mAh battery. Samsung is also said to be
experimenting with silicon-carbon batteries, which could allow the entire
Galaxy S26 lineup to boast significantly higher capacities compared to the
S25 series.
