The Bheemeshwari Trek, located in the Mandya district of Karnataka, India, is a popular trekking 
destination known for its lush greenery, scenic landscapes, and rich wildlife. Situated approximately 100 
kilometres from Bangalore along the banks of the Cauvery River, near the town of Muthathi,
Bheemeshwari offers picturesque views of the river, dense forests, and surrounding hills. The region is 
part of the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary, home to a variety of flora and fauna, including elephants, deer, 
and numerous bird species. In addition to trekking, visitors can enjoy activities such as fishing, river 
rafting, coracle rides, and bird watching at the Bheemeshwari Nature Camp. This camp is a well-known 
spot offering various adventure activities and comfortable accommodations. The trek is of moderate 
difficulty, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers. It typically takes a day to 
complete, with a distance of 5 to 6 kilometres. The trail involves forested paths, some steep sections, 
and rocky terrain. The best time to visit is from October to February, during the cooler months. Trekkers 
should wear comfortable shoes and light clothing and carry essentials like water, snacks, a first-aid kit, 
and insect repellent.
