Amer Fort, also known as Amber Fort, is the jewel of the heritage circuit in Jaipur. The red-sandstone ramparts of its fort, which command the lake of Maota (Maots), together with its ornate gateways, mirror-adorned Sheesh Mahal and stratifying courtyards, are the finest examples of Rajput pomp at its most filmic.
