THE FIRST ELECTROSTATIC AIR CLEANER WAS DEVELOPED BY 
WESTINGHOUSE IN 1935. THE “PRECIPITRON”, CAME OUT OF 
“A SUCCESSFUL FAILURE” IN RESEARCH, AND A HOPEFUL 
HOUSE-CLEANING EXPERIMENT IN PITTSBURGH. BY THE 
1940S, THE PRECIPITRON WAS USED IN HOMES, OFFICES, 
HOSPITALS AND FACTORIES, LITERALLY ELECTROCUTING DUST 
AND DIRT OUT OF THE ATMOSPHERE. WESTINGHOUSE 
EVENTUALLY LEFT THIS INDUSTRY AND ELECTRONIC AIR 
CLEANERS CONTINUED TO EVOLVE OVER THE YEARS.
HEPA TECHNOLOGY
Regarded as the best form of air 
filtration.
HEPA Air Filtration Systems stands for High Efficiency 
Particulate Arrestance. It is a special type of extended 
surface, deep-bedded, randomly positioned fibrous 
material media. The True HEPA Filter was developed 
during World War II by the Atomic Energy Commission 
and was designed to remove radioactive dust particles 
from the air, which might escape and present a health 
hazard to the researchers. Radioactive dust particles 
only attract and adhere to HEPA material.
MEDIA AIR CLEANER 
TECHNOLOGY
Enviropurefx brand filters contain more media 
material than other filters on the market.
Enviropurefx brand MERV ratings are based on 492 feet/minute, 
unlike most competitor products which show high MERV ratings, but 
their tests are done at 300 feet/minute, which is not representative 
of the air flow of a residential HVAC system.
Enviropurefx brand filters contain more media material than other filters on 
the market. More surface area means more collection area, longer filter life 
and lower static pressure. Our typical filter life is one year. (Big Box Store 
filters must be replaced 2-3 times per year. Read the fine print on the filter.) 
Our competitors also achieve high MERV ratings by using less pleats, which 
means higher static pressure and shorter filter life. Also, the deeper the pleat, 
the lower the static pressure. Therefore, we have an odd size of 5¼ inches 
wide.
PHOTOCATALYTIC 
OXIDATION TECHNOLOGY
The Air Purifier designed to be installed on 
the return air duct.
Millions of airborne pollutants are carried through the return air ducts 
of the heating/cooling system. The Air Purifier has been designed to 
be installed on the return air duct. A portion of this return air is by-
passed through an opening on the back of the unit and passes 
through a 5-stage filtration system.
The air passes through a pleated Carbon Prefilter which removes lint and large 
particles to extend the life of the HEPA filter.
Smaller particles then pass through a long-life, 99.97% HEPA (High Efficiency 
Particulate Air) Media Filter which captures particles 0.3 micron (1/84,000 of an 
inch) and larger.
