fungi present in the wood. 
Due to the absence of moisture, 
kiln-dried logs are much lighter than 
green wood, making them easy to 
transport.
They don't need to be treated 
with harsh chemicals as the 
heat of the kiln sanitises the 
wood.

mould makes prolonged storage 
possible, without fear of decay.
