Wood logs have been used as a source of
fuel since the very conception of human
civilisation.
This began with the construction of log houses in
these cold regions, which in time transitioned into
stone houses using fireplaces that burnt
wood logs as a means of heating.
In the UK, we’ve predominantly used
firewood logs from Alder, Birch, and Ash
trees.
These logs burn slowly and for a long period of time.
In contrast, Cedarwood is a softwood that grows
considerably quicker.
This results in a very low-density wood.
Firewood logs with a low density burn quicker
and are often used in conjunction with
hardwood logs
Our excessive demand for wood has led to rapid
deforestation and degradation of our natural
habitats. It has also had an alarmingly negative
effect on weather patterns globally.
As we move towards a more sustainable lifestyle, it
is our duty, as citizens, societies, and corporations
to support and encourage firms that share the same
passion and drive for ethically and sustainably
sourced wood.
The Green Olive Firewood,

sustainable, reliable company. We are a
