India’s steel industry is entering an important phase in 2026, supported by strong domestic consumption, infrastructure development, urbanisation and continued investment in manufacturing. Recent industry data shows that finished steel consumption increased by 7.9% to 56 million tonnes during April–July 2026, while crude steel production reached 56.2 million tonnes.
