The temporomandibular joints (TMJ) are the 2 joints that connect your lower jaw to your skull. More specifically, they are the joints that slide and rotate in front of each ear, and consist of the mandible (the lower jaw) and the temporal bone (the side and base of the skull). The TMJs are among the most complex joints in the body. This joint is unique in that it is a bilateral joint that functions as one unit. Since the TMJ is connected to the mandible, the right and left joints must function together and therefore are not independent of each other.
Temporomandibular Joint And Its Homeopathic Treatment
About Us
Following the pioneering efforts of the late Dr. Shantibhai's Holistic and
Homoeopathic practise in the towns of Nadiad and Petlad, Gujarat, India, Dr.
Mahavrat S. Patel established Cosmic Homeo Healing Centre in Baroda city,
State Gujarat, India in a very well equipped, State of The Art set up with a
serene, cohesive, and conducive ambiance. For the past four decades, he has
been practising homoeopathy in conjunction with holistic healing.
One of his greatest accomplishments in four decades of homoeopathic practise
is his ability to combine clinical medicine with homoeopathic material medicine
and philosophy while treating critically ill patients by working with a team of
medical professionals, coordinating, and acting in the patients' best interests.
How homeopathy helps?
The homoeopathic medical system offers an integrated approach to illness
conditions, with the primary pathology as well as the patient's overall well-being
as the emphasis of treatment.
Homoeopathic micromedicines that have been ultra-diluted and potentized
function as nanomedicines with quantum-like features, enhanced catalytic
activity, and adsorptive ability.
These drugs function exactly like an enzyme key system, producing the intended
harmless impact exclusively on the targeted organs. As a result, the
Homoeopathic treatment is considered a safer, more effective, and non-toxic cure

What is the Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ)?
The two joints that link your lower jaw to your skull are known as the
temporomandibular joints (TMJ). They are the joints that slide and rotate in front
of each ear and are made up of the mandible (lower jaw) and the temporal bone
(side and base of the skull).
Because the TMJ is related to the mandible, the right and left joints must work
together and are thus not independent of one another. The mandible may move
up and down, side to side, and forward and back thanks to these joints and many
muscles.
Smooth muscle activities such as eating, talking, yawning, and swallowing can
take place when the mandible and the joints are appropriately positioned.
Several difficulties can emerge when these structures (muscles, ligaments, disc,
jaw bone, temporal bone) are not aligned or synchronized in movement.
Smiling, laughing, talking, chewing — these all are facial movements you make
daily with little to no thought. But, if you have temporomandibular joint
dysfuntion (TMJ), those simple movements may cause you a lot of pain.
TMD stands for temporomandibular joint disorder. This refers to any dysfunction
of the TMJ. Many people use the terms TMJ and TMD interchangeably.
WHAT IS TMJ OR TMD ?
TMDs are a set of more than 30 ailments that cause pain and dysfunction in the
jaw joint and the muscles that regulate jaw movement. The term "TMDs" refers
to the disorders, whereas "TMJ" simply refers to the temporomandibular joint.
Each person has two TMJs, one on each side of the jaw. Place your fingers in front
of your ears and open your mouth to feel them.
There are three main classes of TMDs:
• Disorders of the joints, including disc disorders.
• Disorders of the muscles used for chewing (masticatory muscles).
• Headaches associated with a TMD.
What are the causes?
TMD's aetiology is poorly known, although it is thought to be multifaceted; proper therapy of
the disorder necessitates identification of predisposing and contributing variables.
Myofascial and Intraarticular TMDs differ in their etiological factors
Myofascial Intraarticular TMD

linked to muscle dysfunction.
It is unknown whether malocclusion contributes
to TMD.
What are types of Temporomandibular joint Disorders?
TMJ dysfunction develops when the muscles and ligaments surrounding your jaw
joints become inflamed or irritated. The illness can be acute or chronic, and the pain
can be modest or severe.
Myofascial pain
Acute muscle strain
Muscle spasm
Fibromyalgia
Chronic pain conditions
Myotonic dystrophy
What are the symptoms?
The following symptoms are associated with TMD –
• Pain (the most common emerging symptom ) usually in the preauricular area
and / or the masticatory muscles
• Limited range of mandibular movement
• Presence of TMJ sounds, such as popping, clicking, grating or crepitus
• Earache, headache, jaw ache and facial pain
• Non-painful hypertrophy of the masticatory muscles
• Abnormal occlusal wear which is associated with oral parafunction (this may be
related to tooth grinding and jaw clenching)
• It has also been found that 87 percent of patients have otological symptoms (i.e.
symptoms related to the ear)
How to practice TMJ Pain Relief ?
Maintain the resting position of your jaw: Reduce wide jaw motions such as
chewing, yawning, singing, and yelling to help relieve TMJ symptoms. Make every effort
to keep your muscles as relaxed as possible.
Correct your posture: Sitting in an uncomfortable position for an extended amount of
time might aggravate jaw pain. Choose a chair with back support when working and take
frequent rests to enhance your posture.
Get a good night’s sleep: Sleep is important for many aspects of good health. To help
minimize TMJ pain, sleep on your back and use pillows to support your neck.
Reduce stress: Try meditation techniques to help loosen and relax your jaw. Yoga
practices can also help put less stress on your muscles, and gardening is a great activity
to try to calm your mind and relax your face.
Exercise your jaw: Jaw exercises can help increase mobility in your joints
