About us
• Uptown International School (UIS), a Taaleem school, is one of the country's 
most prestigious IB schools. UIS is a multilingual, global educational institution 
located in the heart of the Mirdif community in Dubai. Here students learn how 
to think critically, challenge assumptions, excel, build character, build 
friendships, and become multilingual global citizens.
• We are an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering 
the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and 
the Diploma Programme (DP). The school language of instruction is English. 
The Arabic language studies are in the Early Years Programme and French is 
offered from Grade 1 onwards.
• It is our goal to nurture students regardless of ability or aspiration through 
outstanding facilities and inspiring staff. This will enable them to discover their 
passion and reach their potential. It is our goal to provide the spark that

Ib curriculum
• Uptown International School in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is a well-regarded international school 
that offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. The IB curriculum is a rigorous and 
globally recognized educational program that focuses on developing students' intellectual, personal, 
emotional, and social skills.
• At Uptown International School, the IB curriculum is implemented across three programs: the Primary 
Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP). 
Each program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive and challenging education that 
prepares them for success in higher education and beyond.
• The PYP is designed for students aged 3 to 12 years old and provides a foundation in essential skills 
and knowledge across all subject areas. The curriculum focuses on developing students' critical 
thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills, while also fostering a love of learning.
• The MYP is for students aged 11 to 16 years old and builds on the skills and knowledge developed in 
the PYP. The curriculum emphasizes inquiry-based learning, interdisciplinary studies, and the 
development of global perspectives, while also preparing students for the rigors of the DP.
• The DP is for students aged 16 to 19 years old and is a challenging two-year program that culminates 
in externally assessed examinations. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a rigorous 
and holistic education that prepares them for success in higher education and the workforce.
