The Harmony Igloo Stay is based in Manali and 
offers adventure activities. In addition to 
providing adventure activities, we are credited 
with introducing the "IGLOOGLOO STAY" Concept 
in India and especially in Manali (Hamta Valley), 
which was conceptualized in 2018. Since then, it 
has become a favorite among adventure 
enthusiasts during the winter months (a Dec end 
to the first week of March) and has thus become 
one of the most popular winter destinations in 
Himachal Pradesh.
How to stay warm in an 
igloo
A question arise how igloos are safe and 
worm from inside as they are made of 
snow blogs in winters. Here is the 
scientific explanation for it . 
As the cold air is thicker than the warm 
air, the cold air settles at the bottom of 
the igloo, while the warm air moves up 
the structure. The igloo floor is divided 
into terraces. The upper layer is the 
place where hot air gets captured and 
bedding is set.
Igloo Structure Affect Temperature
An igloo's structure is also critical for 
maintaining a warm interior. It is significant that 
there is a small gate and tunnel leading to the 
igloo's central chamber. In addition to serving 
as a cold sink, it prevents snowstorms and cold 
winds from blowing directly into the main 
compartment of the igloo. A typical igloo is 
divided into terraces. Sleeping occurs on the 
top deck while other tasks are performed on 
the bottom deck. Seal skins are used to 
improve insulation in the inner chamber. The 
front room acts as a refrigerator and a storage 
area for food, in addition to the master 
bedroom.
How hot is the igloo
It is possible for an igloo to create a difference of 
approximately 15 degrees Celsius between its 
interior and its external environment simply by using 
body heat. A study found that the temperature inside 
an igloo near a person's body is approximately 36 
degrees Celsius. The temperature inside the igloo 
increases if there are more people inside. Despite 
the fact that 16 degrees Celsius or 1 degree Celsius 
may not seem like a “cozy” temperature, an igloo 
makes up for it by regulating the temperature 
effectively. Arctic territories can reach a staggering 
-15 or -20 degrees Celsius. Igloos make a 
comfortable home for people living in freezing 
temperatures, for example. By digging holes in the 
snow, even Arctic animals gain warmth from its 
insulating properties.
