Key Updates in the 2026 Amendment AI-generated or synthetic content is now formally defined and brought under regulation. Platforms are required to provide clear labels, visible disclosures, and permanent metadata for synthetic media. Intermediaries must deploy technical controls to detect and prevent harmful AI content. Government takedown timelines have been significantly reduced for faster response. Legal references have been updated under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. New Compliance Timelines Government takedown requests reduced from 36 hours to 3 hours.
