VINTAGE TOWERING OVER THE 
BOULEVARDS AND AVENUES
 As per sources, it is found that in the previous year 56 million 
women in the US alone bought second-hand, while the number 
was 44 million in 2017 and just 35 million in 2016. The resale 
market, which is worth $ 24 billion today, is predicted to rise to 
$ 51 billion by 2023.
 13% of fervent second-hand patrons who’ve spent over 
$10,000 on pre-owned clothes are millionaires. Besides 
clothing, resale sneaker sales now account for more than $2 
billion in annual sales. By 2025, sales are forecasted to reach 
$6 billion in the resale market.
 Of all shoppers at vintage clothing wholesale stores, 
online vintage marketplace, and so forth, 37% are Gen Z, 27% 
are millennials, and 19% are baby boomers. The resale market 
does attract customers of all ages, but it is the “young and 
curious” cohort that gets fascinated by the vintage part of this 
industry. 3

That makes it the “most sought-after” style statement 
among the youthful generation? Why is vintage the popular 
kid on the block?
 From having witnessed vintage lovers embrace this eternal 
fad at La Vintage, for almost a decade, we have managed to

THE QUALITY:
 The quality of vintage clothing is in a class of its own for 
its endurance, especially when compared to that of 
contemporary clothing, however, with a few exceptions of 
high-end luxury designers. Even in that case, vintage 
clothing adorns better ethical and eco-friendly methods of 
manufacturing, making them a better choice for the 
environment.
 Not just of recent times, this sartorial revolution had 
begun in the later ‘60s and early ‘70s, where the quality 
of second-hand clothes was largely appreciated and 
admired. In the year 1975, the New York Times read, 
“Clever women have discovered that antique clothes have 
a magnificent cut and hand-done details not often found 
in clothes these days”.
 The crescendo is that vintage clothes offer more luxurious 
and lavish details, at a marked-down price. A win-win for 5

 Though the retailers and streetwear brands are rapidly
