Established in a two-story building near the Gold Souk, Al Ahmadiya School was the first school in Dubai. At the time, the school attracted the finest scientists and scholars from the region and upheld a high standard of education from 1912 until it closed in 1958.

• Dubai Culture & Arts Authority was launched on 8th March 2008 by His
Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and
Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
• The Authority enables and develops the cultural and creative sectors in
the emirate as the custodian entity, based on its cultural responsibility
towards Dubai and to help define it in both a local and global context.
• Under the leadership of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin
Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, the Authority is
committed to enriching the cultural scene of the emirate, firmly rooted in
the heritage of the United Arab Emirates. It is working on building
bridges of constructive dialogue between various civilizations and
cultures to enhance Dubai’s position as a global center for art and
culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.
AL AHMADIYA SCHOOL
• Al Ahmadiya School is a historic educational institution in Dubai, United Arab
Emirates. It is not under the purview of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai
Culture), which is a government entity responsible for promoting and preserving
culture and arts in Dubai.
• Al Ahmadiya School, also known as Al Ahmadiya School and Heritage House, is a
heritage site in Dubai located in the Al Ras area. It was established in 1912 and is
considered one of the oldest formal schools in Dubai. It served as a center for
education and social gatherings in the early days of Dubai's history and has been
restored as a museum and heritage attraction.
