ABOUT us
• Dubai Culture & Arts Authority was launched on 8th March 2008 by His 
Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and 
Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
• The Authority enables and develops the cultural and creative sectors in 
the emirate as the custodian entity, based on its cultural responsibility 
towards Dubai and to help define it in both a local and global context.
• Under the leadership of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin 
Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, the Authority is 
committed to enriching the cultural scene of the emirate, firmly rooted in 
the heritage of the United Arab Emirates. It is working on building 
bridges of constructive dialogue between various civilizations and 
cultures to enhance Dubai’s position as a global center for art and 
culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.

• Dubai boasts a rich network of library branches managed by Dubai Culture, providing 
residents and visitors with access to a wide range of resources and cultural enrichment. 
These libraries play a crucial role in fostering a love for reading, learning, and community 
engagement.
• One prominent branch is the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, situated in the heart of 
Dubai. This state-of-the-art facility is one of the largest libraries in the region and offers 
an extensive collection of books, digital resources, and multimedia materials in various 
languages. The library also hosts cultural events, workshops, and educational programs, 
making it a hub for intellectual and cultural exchange.
• Another notable branch is the Al Mankhool Library, which provides a diverse selection of 
books, periodicals, and digital resources. It is well-equipped with study areas, computer 
stations, and spaces for community activities. The library also emphasizes children's 
programming, offering storytime sessions and educational activities designed to engage 
young readers.
• The Al Rashidiya Library is another key branch, known for its focus on providing resources 
that support academic research and lifelong learning. It features a range of books, 
journals, and online databases, catering to students, researchers, and the general public.
