HERITAGE HOUSE
• Heritage houses are traditional buildings that are found in various parts of Dubai and are a significant
part of the city's cultural heritage. These houses, also known as "wind towers" or "barjeel houses," were
built in the 19th and early 20th centuries and were used as homes by wealthy families in the region.
• Heritage houses in Dubai are characterized by their unique architectural style, which was influenced by
the region's hot and arid climate. The houses are designed to maximize air flow and shade, with features
such as high ceilings, thick walls, and wind towers that help to cool the interior. The buildings are also
decorated with intricate carvings, wooden lattices, and other decorative elements that reflect the
cultural and artistic traditions of the region.
• Despite their age, many heritage houses in Dubai have been well preserved, and some have been
restored to their original condition. Today, these houses are popular tourist attractions, and many are
open to the public, allowing visitors to experience a glimpse of life in Dubai's rich cultural heritage.
• In conclusion, heritage houses in Dubai are an important part of the city's cultural heritage and are a
unique and fascinating feature of the region. They provide valuable insight into the traditional way of life
in Dubai and the rich cultural heritage of the region. Whether you are a history buff, a cultural
enthusiast, or simply looking for an interesting day out, a visit to a heritage house in Dubai is an
experience not to be missed.
