ABOUT us
• Dubai Culture & Arts Authority was launched on 8th March 2008 by His 
Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and 
Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
• The Authority enables and develops the cultural and creative sectors in 
the emirate as the custodian entity, based on its cultural responsibility 
towards Dubai and to help define it in both a local and global context.
• Under the leadership of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin 
Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, the Authority is 
committed to enriching the cultural scene of the emirate, firmly rooted in 
the heritage of the United Arab Emirates. It is working on building 
bridges of constructive dialogue between various civilizations and 
cultures to enhance Dubai’s position as a global center for art and 
culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.
Museums
• The Dubai Culture and Authority has played a significant role in the development and promotion of museums in 
the city. With a vision to preserve and showcase the rich cultural heritage of Dubai, the authority has established 
several world-class museums that offer unique and immersive experiences to visitors.
• One of the notable museums under the Dubai Culture and Authority is the Dubai Museum located in the Al 
Fahidi Fort, which is one of the oldest buildings in the city. The museum provides a captivating journey into 
Dubai's past, showcasing artifacts and exhibits that depict the traditional Bedouin way of life, pearl diving, and 
the city's transformation into a modern metropolis. Visitors can explore the various galleries, including historical 
dioramas, traditional Emirati dwellings, and interactive displays that offer insights into the region's history, 
culture, and traditions.
• Additionally, the Dubai Culture and Authority has played a vital role in the establishment of the Etihad Museum, 
which commemorates the founding of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and its subsequent development. The 
museum offers a blend of interactive exhibits, multimedia presentations, and archival materials that narrate the 
story of the UAE's formation, highlighting the values of unity, tolerance, and progress. Through engaging displays,
