  If you are using Avast Antivirus, open the application 
and click the Settings tab at the left side panel.
 Select Components and click the Customize option 
under the Mail Shield tab if the 
SMTP error could not connect to SMTP Host.
Step 2:
 Under Mail Settings, uncheck the Scan outbound 
mail(SMTP) checkbox and click the OK button.
  Close the Avast Antivirus application and try 
connecting to your SMTP host.
