Check Login Credentials
 Check if you can log in to your Yahoo mail account using your default 
web browser and then compose an email.
 Send the composed mail to the same email address and check if you 
receive the mail within 5 minutes.
Verify Server Settings
 On the Mac Mail, verify the server settings for Yahoo mail and change 
the settings in the required fields to fix the Yahoo imap not working
(Spam folder, Blocked address,
  Email filters, Reply-to-address).
Delete Your Email Account
 Delete your Yahoo account from the Mac Mail with a backup and 
reconfigure it with the correct server settings. For the incoming mail 
server, use “imap.mail.yahoo.com” and port number 
as 993 with SSL encryption.
 Also, disable the firewall or restrictions from the antivirus software.
