The Iberia Airlines cancellation policy states that you can cancel your flight and get a refund under the following 
conditions:
You cancelled your Iberia flight to/from the United States within 
24  hours of purchasing your ticket (also known as Iberia Airlines’ 
24-hour  cancellation policy).
Your Iberia flight was cancelled and you decided not to catch 
the  alternative flight.
Your Iberia flight is delayed by 5 hours or more.  
Your ticket conditions allow you to opt for a 
refund.
If a close relative dies and you cancel your flight. A close 
relative can  be a spouse, parent, child, or in-law.
You are unable to travel due to COVID-19
(as explained under Iberia Airlines Rebooking and Refund Options 
Due  to COVID-19).
Iberia Cancellation Policy Due to Rerouting of 
Flights
Iberia Airlines cancellation policy further states that you can request a refund and 
receive  compensation if your flight is suddenly cancelled or delayed under certain 
situations*, as  explained below.
The compensation will be:
EUR 125 if your flight distance is up to 1,500 km and the arrival time of the rerouted 
flight is up  to 2 hours after the arrival time of the originally scheduled flight, and EUR 
250 if the delay  exceeds 2 hours.
EUR 200 if your flight is an intra-Community flight exceeding 1,500 km and the arrival 
time of  the rerouted flight is up to 3 hours after the arrival time of the originally 
scheduled flight.
EUR 200 if your flight distance is 1,500 – 3,500 km and the arrival time of the rerouted 
flight is  up to 3 hours after the arrival time of the originally scheduled flight, and EUR 400 
if the delay in  arrival time is more than 3 hours.
EUR 300 for all flights not included above if the rerouted flight has an arrival time of up to 
4
hours after the arrival time of the originally scheduled flight; or EUR 600 ¡f the delay 
exceeds 4  hours.
How to Receive Compensation from Iberia

travel  agent, or point of sale from where you purchased your ticket.
You can ask to receive the compensation by cash, bank check, electronic bank transfer, or as 
travel  vouchers. If you opt for a travel voucher, you can use it later to buy tickets or 
exchange it for cash.  The conditions for cancelling your Iberia Airlines flight booking will be

* Per Iberia cancellation policy, you will not qualify for compensation in the following

hours after  the original arrival time.
2.You were informed of the cancellation less than 7 days before the scheduled departure 
date and  were offered a rerouted flight that allows you to catch your flight up to 1 hour 
before the original  departure and arrive at your final destination less than 2 hours after 
the original arrival time.
Note. Iberia Airlines cancellation policy further states that if you purchased your ticket from a 
third  party such as a travel agency or a website, you must contact them directly to cancel 
and refund your  ticket.

per the  above-mentioned conditions, you can:
Reroute your flight at your convenience (subject to seat 
availability).  Cancel your flight and apply for reimbursement 
within 7 days:
For the part/parts of the journey, you did not make.
For the part/parts of the journey you made if the flight no longer serves 
your  purpose.
For a return flight to your first departure point if the flight no longer 
serves  your purpose.
