place among the top four teams in the ODI World Cup 2023 points 
standings. A total of 48 matches are expected to be played in India during the 
event, which will be contested in a round-robin format before moving on to

Rules for the 2023 ICC World Cup
The round-robin system, which pits each of the 10 teams against every other team, will be used. In 
other words, one club will compete in nine games during the league stage, a structure that was used in 
England for the last tournament.
The top four teams in the ICC World Cup 2023 Points Table will advance to the semifinals. A team 
receives two points for each win, whereas a defeat results in no further points. If there is a draw or no 
outcome, both sides will receive one point apiece. The category of no result includes games that must 
be abandoned due to bad weather or other unforeseeable situations.
Games that are classified as tied results have both teams scoring the same amount in the conclusion. A 
tied game won't advance to a super over unless there isn't a knockout game, therefore both teams 
must be content with just one point.
The standing of the teams in the Cricket World Cup 2023 points table will determine which four teams 
advance to the semi-final stage or are eliminated from the competition. If two or more teams tie for first 
place with the same number of points, the team with the highest net run rate (NRR) shall prevail.
