The common causes for developing this eye condition are intake of high saturated fats, obesity, smoking, high blood pressure, and genetic reasons. This disease can be treated by having laser surgery and eye medications. ● Glaucoma – Glaucoma is a serious eye disease that damages the optic nerve. The main role of the optic nerve is to send visual information from the eye to your brain. This disease can occur at any age, but mainly it occurs in people above 60 years of age. There are basically two types of glaucoma that include open angle glaucoma and acute angle-closure glaucoma. Its symptoms include headache, severe pain in the eyes, nausea, vomiting, redness in the eyes, blurred vision, and loss of eye vision. ● Refractive Errors – Refractive errors are a common eye condition that prevents the light from focusing directly on the back of the eye, which in turn causes blurry vision, difficulty in focusing on things or objects, severe headaches, eye strains, and squinting. This particular eye condition can be treated by applying sunglasses, contact lenses, corneal-based corrective laser surgery, doing photorefractive keratectomy, and lens-based surgery. ● Diabetic Retinopathy – Diabetic Retinopathy is one of the eye disorders that is caused by the rise in sugar levels or diabetes. In this particular eye condition, the rising high blood sugar levels cause damage to the blood vessels that are present in the retina. The increase in sugar levels causes swelling in the blood vessels. It can also cause the growth of new blood vessels on the retina. The basic symptoms of this disease include blurry vision, poor night vision, an increase in the number of floaters, inability to notice changes in colors like faded colors, and loss of vision. The best way to get rid of this eye disease is by controlling your blood pressure and blood sugar levels. ● Amblyopia – Amblyopia is a disease that occurs in early childhood. In this eye condition, there is a reduction in the vision of one eye that is caused by abnormal visual development in a person’s earlier life. The basic symptoms of this eye condition include poor depth perception, shutting of an eye, tilting of the head, and vision problems.
