● Cataract – Cataract is a common eye disease in which the lens of the eye
becomes clouded and causes severe loss of vision. The major symptoms of this
eye disorder include cloudy vision, difficulty in seeing during nighttime, blurry,
and foggy vision. According to research, it was founded that there are 12 million
blind people in India, out of which 63 percent of blind people got blind due to
cataract disease. This eye problem is common during old age among people.
This disease is common especially in India due to high levels of UV exposure,
diabetes, smoking, obesity, high blood pressure, and eye inflammation.
● Macular Degeneration – Macular degeneration is a serious eye disease that
causes loss in the central part of the retina or macula that results in the
distortion of the central vision. This eye disease is common in people who are
of seventy-five years and older. There are basically two types of macular
degeneration, one is dry age-related macular degeneration and the other is
wet age-related macular degeneration. The common causes for developing
this eye condition are intake of high saturated fats, obesity, smoking, high
blood pressure, and genetic reasons. This disease can be treated by having
laser surgery and eye medications.
● Glaucoma – Glaucoma is a serious eye disease that damages the optic
nerve. The main role of the optic nerve is to send visual information from the
eye to your brain. This disease can occur at any age, but mainly it occurs in
people above 60 years of age. There are basically two types of glaucoma that
include open angle glaucoma and acute angle-closure glaucoma. Its
symptoms include headache, severe pain in the eyes, nausea, vomiting,
redness in the eyes, blurred vision, and loss of eye vision.
● Refractive Errors – Refractive errors are a common eye condition that
prevents the light from focusing directly on the back of the eye, which in turn
causes blurry vision, difficulty in focusing on things or objects, severe
headaches, eye strains, and squinting. This particular eye condition can be
treated by applying sunglasses, contact lenses, corneal-based corrective
laser surgery, doing photorefractive keratectomy, and lens-based surgery.
● Diabetic Retinopathy – Diabetic Retinopathy is one of the eye disorders that
is caused by the rise in sugar levels or diabetes. In this particular eye
condition, the rising high blood sugar levels cause damage to the blood
vessels that are present in the retina. The increase in sugar levels causes
swelling in the blood vessels. It can also cause the growth of new blood
vessels on the retina. The basic symptoms of this disease include blurry
vision, poor night vision, an increase in the number of floaters, inability to
notice changes in colors like faded colors, and loss of vision. The best way to
get rid of this eye disease is by controlling your blood pressure and blood
sugar levels.
● Amblyopia – Amblyopia is a disease that occurs in early childhood. In this
eye condition, there is a reduction in the vision of one eye that is caused by
abnormal visual development in a person’s earlier life. The basic symptoms of
this eye condition include poor depth perception, shutting of an eye, tilting of
the head, and vision problems. In this disease, the brain of the individual
