The Kings of Summer was the directional debut feature movie of 
Jordan Vogt Roberts, a film and television director of America. He began a career by 
producing and directing two web series, Memoirs of a Manchild and Book Club, he 
has also directed most episodes of the series Single Dads. Using his imagination, he 
turned an episode of his web series Memoirs of a Manchild into a short film, 
Successful Alcoholics. This short film was screened at over 30 film festivals, including 
Sundance Film Festival, the AFI Fest and the SXSW Film Festival.

The list of television series he directed includes the 
episodes of Funny or Die Presents, Mash-up, Death 
Valley, You’re the Worst, and Cocked. 
Jordan Vogt-Roberts Director has directed two 
commercials, Destiny2 and Player Unknown’s 
Battleground. 
In 2013, he directed The Kings of Summer, which had 
its world premium at the Sundance Film Festival and 
then at the Cleveland International Film Festival. At 
the Dallas International Film Festival, the film secured 
the Narrative Feature Audience Award.
