LAPAROSCOPY?
Laparoscopic surgery

performance of surgical 
procedures with the 
assistance of a video 
camera and several thin 
instruments.
HOW IT IS 
DONE?
Small incisions of up to half an inch are made and plastic tubes called ports 
are placed through these incisions. A camera and instruments are put into 
the ports and this allows access to the inside of a patient. The video 
camera serves as the eyes of the surgeon.
