Origins

grappling and wrestling.
Kung fu means "skill" in Chinese, and it is the generic term for an

China. In China, kung fu is known as wushu.
Aikido is really a relatively recent martial-art, coded in the 
1930s with a Japanese teacher named Morihei Ueshiba (1883-
1969). Ueshiba would be a religious man who desired to invent 
self defense that emphasized non-aggression.
Judo means "gentle way" in Japanese and it was developed being 
an educational tool with a teacher named Jigoro Kano within the 
1800s.
