Heritage of Port Moody
at the POMO Museum
Tricity Local News
Established in 1969 by the Port Moody Historical Society, the
museum was initially housed in a modest building on Kyle Street. In
1978, a significant transformation occurred when the society
relocated the collection to Port Moody’s second Canadian Pacific
Railway (CPR) train station, built in 1908. This move not only
preserved a vital piece of architectural history but also provided an
authentic backdrop for the museum’s exhibits. In June 2023,
reflecting a renewed vision and identity, the institution embraced
the name “POMO Museum.”
