Diagnostic laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that allows the visual examination of intraabdominal organs in order to detect any pathology. This procedure allows the direct visual examination of intraabdominal organs including large surface areas of the liver, gallbladder, spleen, peritoneum, pelvic organs, and retroperitoneum. Biopsies, aspiration, and cultures can be obtained, and laparoscopic ultrasound (US) may be used.
