Heaven Scent Memories
One of my best memories from my wedding, aside from The Dress, was the perfume I  
wore. For all the special events in my life including trips around the world, I like to  
wear a new fragrance for the first time. The selection would either be a recent add to  
my designer collection or something I picked up from the hotel boutique. This way the
scent is attached to my memory of the event or place. This works incredibly well  
because when I smell each fragrance, I am instantly transported to that special time,  
making the perfume even more treasured to me. (Swoon)
Let’s review the different types of fragrances, ranging from Parfum (the most intense  
concentration) to Eau Fraiche (least concentration). The composition of each type  
varies in percentage of oils to alcohol and water ratio. Parfums have a higher fragrance  
oil of 20-30% and therefore are more long lasting, 12+ hours! Eau Fraiche and splash  
fragrances have under 3% fragrance oil and last about 1-3 hours. Each type serves its  
fabulous purpose. Sometimes we like a lighter scent that is not too overpowering, and  
sometimes we need something to last through the entire night into the next day.
When shopping for your next new scent there a few points to  
keep in mind. There are 4 different types each fragrance  
originates – Floral, Oriental, Woody, Fresh. Each type will melt  
into the other based on the notes the fragrance holds. Each  
perfume has a top note, heart note, and base note. The top note  
is the opening fragrance smelled immediately after applying.
The freshness and light floral aspects are witnessed at this  
point. The heart or middle notes become intense after 30  
minutes; this is where heavier floral levels peak. It is the main  
body of the fragrance and last longer than the top notes. The
base note is where skin chemistry is involved, the bolder  
components of the scent are intensified on the skin. This is the  
full body of the fragrance and what is left to remember the  
most.
It is so much fun to pick up a new perfume while on a trip especially at specialty  
boutiques or gift shops. Those fragrances are one of a kind and you cannot restock a  
new one unless you take that trip again! More vacations are necessary! This trick really  
makes each perfume heaven scent!

reminded of that perfect moment I was in my gorgeous dress and about to walk  down
