A greater amount of England is set for Tier 4 as ahead of schedule as Boxing Day after the new Covid strain spread “all over the place”. Ministers and medics met on Tuesday night following the discovery of the Covid mutant strain in parts of the South West, the Midlands and the North, all currently in Tier 2 or 3 regions.
