GENERAL
DENTISTRY
In a full dental exam, which is a frequent
dental procedure, the patient’s oral health
is reviewed to identify any problems or
potential problems which may arise in the
future. This helps avoid issues such as
tooth decay or dental cancer by enabling
the dentist to address any worries at the
earliest opportunity. Doing so can save your
time, money, and the need for more
intrusive treatment. Common practices that
are involved during a full exam include:
SCALE, CLEAN, AND POLISH
e purpose of preventing gum disease and other
issues related to oral health, dental scaling and
cleanliness are crucial. Dental scaling involves
thoroughly cleaning the teeth and removing
plaque that has built up above and below the
gum line. During this process, deposits on the
teeth are loosened and removed using a few
specialised dental tools to stop the spread of
plaque and tartar. This is complemented with a
therapeutic wash and flush to remove the plaque
and food particles hidden in the spaces between
your teeth. Following the removal of the plaque,
A deep clean is a treatment aimed at cleaning in
the dentist will use a special tool to polish your between the teeth and gums and roots to remove the
teeth to prevent the formation of new buildup of plaque on your teeth and reduce gum
inflammation. Unlike regular cleans whereby the
dentist washes the front, back and sides of the teeth, a
deep clean extends to the roots. In return, this service
is highly beneficial to maintain overall oral health as it
assists in stopping gum disease, fights bad breath, and
reduces the risk of tooth loss and root rot.
OUR
PROJECT
Periodontitis, also known as gum disease, is a
dangerous gum infection that harms soft tissue
and, if left untreated, can kill the bone that
supports your teeth and result in tooth loss or tooth
loosening. Factors that increase the risk of
periodontitis include gingivitis, poor oral health,
smoking, obesity, or genetics. Symptoms of the
disease include gums that bleed when you brush or
floss your teeth, bad breath, plaque buildup, tooth
loss, and red or swollen gums. Periodontal Care is
significant to managing and reducing the risk of
periodontitis. Good oral hygiene practices and
periodontal cleanings are essential in maintaining
dental health and keeping periodontal disease
under control.

TOOTH COLOURED FILLING
One of the most common types of routine care is to treat cavities in fillings. Tooth coloured
fillings are dental restorations designed to be natural as they blend well with the teeth as
they cover fillings which are darker and more easily noticeable. Tooth coloured fillings
chemically bond to the teeth and close off a cavity after the decayed part of the tooth has
been removed to help repair chipped or broken teeth. During the process, the dentist numbs
the tooth and surrounding areas, removes any decay, and cleans the cavity to prepare it for
the filling. This procedure has many advantages. It is quick and painless, aesthetically
pleasing as the fillings can easily blend with surrounding teeth making them unnoticeable,
they are long lasting, and assist in maintaining the natural tooth structure.
