Mark Hemstreet is a prominent and successful hotelier in Portland, Oregon. In 
1974, he opened the first Shilo Inn Suites near the Portland International Airport. 
Today, the chain has grown to 20 properties and 14 restaurants located in six 
Western States and Texas. 
 
Developing Residential and Commercial Properties 
Along with the development and expansion of the Shilo Inn Suites hotel 
chain, Mark Hemstreet is also responsible for the development of the first-ever 
conceived, two-story mini-warehouse and storage facility in Palm Springs, 
California.  
 
He has also been instrumental in the development of more than 900 affordable 
comfortable apartment housing units throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as 
the one-of-a-kind Oregon Coast, master-planned community development, 
Lincoln Shore Star Resort.
