Making His Dream a Reality
In 1974, Mark Hemstreet opened his first Shilo Inn near the Portland International Airport in
Oregon. Mark Hemstreet spent the next several years, expanding his vision by opening a total
of 47 hotel properties and 25 restaurants. This resulted in Hemstreet and the Shilo Inn Suites
being named one of the fastest-growing, privately-held companies in Oregon.
