A Product Owner is the person accountable for ensuring that the development of the  
product delivers the greatest value possible to the business. They are responsible for  
ensuring that the team delivers value at the end of each Sprint. A Product Owner must  
often act as a spokesperson for the business, communicating with the development  
team to ensure the work being requested will be valuable to the business (and worth any  
investment required by the business). Product Owner is a person who is responsible to  
represent the interests of the customers. In Agile software development the Product  
Owner is responsible for managing the product backlog and maximizing the value of the

 The Product Owner writes the Product Backlog and prioritizes it, removing any  
ambiguity and all the issues.
 The Product Owner is also responsible for managing the Scrum Team and
making sure that the task gets done on time and within the budget.
 A Product Owner is also responsible for maintaining the Product Backlog,  
monitoring the progress of the development team, and representing the views of  
the stakeholders and users.
 A product owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the product. This
means that they need to be able to determine what features will be included in

implemented well and that the product is being developed.

Role of Product Owner's in Scrum:

events and meetings.

This means that only the Product Owner may change the Product Backlog during  
the Sprint.
 The Product Owner is responsible for maximising the value of the product. The
PO has to own the entire product and understand the business goals it is trying to  
achieve.
 The PO is the single point of contact for all the stakeholders and is responsible  
for prioritizing the backlog, ensuring the Product Backlog is visible, and available
to all who need it.
 The PO must meet with the team daily, prioritize the Product Backlog, and stay  
aware of any changes in the project.
 The Product Owner is responsible for ensuring the value of the product. A good  
Product Owner creates and maintains a Product Backlog from which team  
members pull work items.
 A common misconception is that the Product Owner is responsible for writing the  
acceptance criteria for the work items, but the Product Owner should instead be  
largely responsible for ensuring that a solid backlog of work items exists.
 The Product Owner should also be responsible for ensuring that all team  
members are working on the most valuable items in the backlog. This can be
accomplished by pairing product owners with developers, by doing Sprint  
Planning with the development team, and by having a strong understanding of  
the business. The Product Owner is basically the voice of the business.
