“Internet Technologies” PRESENTED BY NAMIT DOSHI INTRODUCTION to INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES Internet Technologies is that group of technologies that allow user to access information and communication over the World Wide Web (www). Examples are Lan (Local Area Network) Wan (Wide Area Network) P R E S E N TAT I O N T I T L E 2 History Of Internet The Internet was developed by Bob Kahn and Vint Cerf in 1970s. They began the design of what we today know as the “Internet”. it was result of another research experiment which called ARPANET, which stands for “Advanced Research Projects Agency Network.” 3 How the Internet Works Computers connect to each other and to the “internet” via wires, cables, radio waves, and other types of networking infrastructure. All data sent over the internet is translated into pulses of light or electricity, also called “bits” and then interpreted by the receiving computer. Key Internet Protocols Key internet protocols are as follows: HTTP: Hyper Text Transfer Protocol is used to load web pages using hypertext links. HTTPS: Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure is a protocol that secures communication and data transfer between user’s web browser and a website. It is a secure version of HTTP. FTP: File Transfer Protocol is a standard network protocol used for transfer of files from one host to another over a TCP-based network, such as the Internet. 5 WEB TECHNOLOGIES Web Technology refers to the means by which computers communicate with each other using markup languages and multimedia packages. Web technology involves HTML,CSS,JAVASCRIPT 6 Cloud Computing Cloud computing is the on-demand access of computing resources – physical Servers or Virtual Servers, data Storage, networking capabilities, application development tools, software, AI – Powered analytic tools and more – Over the internet with pay – per – use pricing. 7 Mobile Internet Mobile Internet refers to the use of the internet on mobile devices, allowing people to stay connected to a wide range of information, services, and social interactions through applications like friend locator services and micro – blogging sites. 8 Internet of Things The term Internet of Things , refers to the collective network of connected devices and the technology that facilitates communication between the devices and the cloud, as well as between the devices themselves. P R E S E N TAT I O N T I T L E 9 Cyber Security Cyber security is the practice of defending computers, servers, mobile devices, electronic systems, networks, and data from malicious attacks. It’s also known as information technology security or electronic information security. 1 0 Internet Governance Internet governance refers to the rules, policies, standards and practices that coordinate and shape global cyberspace. The Internet is a vast network of independently-managed networks, woven together by globally standardized data communication protocols. P R E S E N TAT I O N T I T L E 1 1 Future of the Internet The future of the internet is a general term that refers to research on new internet architectures. It may also refer to the book The future of the Internet by Harrison Rainie, which was published in 2014. The book explores how the internet the workplace, education and family life. P R E S E N TAT I O N T I T L E 1 2 Conclusion Internet Technologies have significantly transformed communication, information access, and business operations. Emerging technologies like cloud computing, mobile internet, IOT, and advanced cyber security are reshaping industries and transforming lives globally. Future advancement like 5G, AI, and Web 3.0 will expand internet possibilities, making it more immersive, secure, and interconnected. 1 3 P R E S E N TAT I O N T I T L E 1 4
