1. Prepare Your BTP Environment

2. Build and Validate the CAP Service

5 Use `cds add hana --for production` and configure production authentication before 
deployment.

3. Prepare Database, Security, and MTA

1 Configure SAP HANA Cloud persistence and generate the required HDI deployment 
artifacts.
2 Add XSUAA configuration and review roles, scopes, and authorization annotations.
3 Create an MTA descriptor with `cds add mta` to package app modules and service

4 Review `mta.yaml`: module names, routes, service bindings, build settings, and 
deployment dependencies.
5 Keep secrets out of source control; use platform-managed service bindings and 
environment configuration.

4. Build and Deploy the CAP Backend

1 Build the multi-target application with `mbt build` to create an `.mtar` deployment archive.
2 Log in to the correct Cloud Foundry API endpoint, then target the intended org and space.
3 Deploy the archive with `cf deploy mta_archives/.mtar`.
4 Check deployment output for database deployment, service creation, and application 
startup errors.
5 Use `cf apps`, `cf services`, and `cf logs  --recent` to verify runtime health.

5. Connect the Fiori/UI5 Application

1 Generate a Fiori elements app from the CAP OData service, or build a freestyle SAPUI5 
interface.
2 Configure the app’s data source and ensure the service URL and OData version match the 
CAP endpoint.
3 Set up destinations or approuter routes so the UI can reach the backend securely.
4 Add the HTML5 Application Repository and app-router or managed launchpad approach 
required by your architecture.
5 Test list/detail pages, create-update-delete flows, navigation, and authorization with 
realistic users.

6. Deploy Fiori Content and Publish Access

1 Generate Cloud Foundry deployment configuration using SAP Fiori tools in Business 
Application Studio.
2 Build the UI project and package it for deployment to the HTML5 Application Repository.
3 Deploy the UI content with the configured MTA/app-content module or supported

4 Configure SAP Build Work Zone or the selected launchpad to expose the app with the right 
catalog, role, and tile.
5 Assign role collections and verify the app opens through the intended user entry point.

7. Verify, Troubleshoot, and Release Safely

1 Smoke-test login, API calls, database reads/writes, navigation, and responsive behavior 
after deployment.
2 For 401/403 errors, inspect identity configuration, role collections, scopes, and destination 
authentication.
3 For 404 or failed API calls, check routes, destination URLs, service paths, and OData 
metadata.
4 For startup or database errors, review recent app logs, service bindings, HANA availability, 
and migrations.
5 Promote through dev → test → production with repeatable builds, monitored logs, and a 
rollback plan.
