The exposure of the asbestos fibers into the air can increase the 
asbestos- risks. Asbestos is a mineral whose main characteristics are 
highly resistant to fire, thermal isolation and also microscopic in nature. 
Asbestos toxicity is related to its fibrous structure, which is tested and 
identified as a first level Human carcinogen, found naturally in rocks.  
 

As it is very cheap it was used as the main construction material in the 
early 80’s. After finding the hazardous nature of these asbestos fibers we

2. Take an Asbestos Awareness Training Course 


Workers at the construction site can stay safe from asbestos exposure by 
taking proper precaution and by taking an asbestos training course. 
Many institutions provide asbestos training course online which helps 
the workers to learn together with their job.  
 

3. Use a HEPA( (High-Efficiency Particle Absorbing) respirators and 
Vacuum 
 

HEPA is a good respiratory protection mask, which can help a worker to 
protect himself from inhaling the asbestos fibers. And also a Vacuum can 
help to remove partial vacuum to suck up particles of dirt or dust of 
asbestos.  
 

4. Avoid Task That Disturb Dust 
 

Only damaged or broken asbestos can spread asbestos fibers into air. 
Avoid practices which disturb asbestos.  
 

Some of these practices include: 
 

 Use of saws not fitted with a point-of-cut ventilator or HEPA-filtered 
exhaust 

 Using compressed air to remove asbestos-containing materials 
 Any dry cleanup of asbestos debris or dust, such as dry sweeping or 

shoveling 
 Making employees work extended hours on asbestos job sites 

 

5. Use the Wet Method 
 

Applying water to the working material can help you to avoid the exposure 
of asbestos into the air.  
Collect all asbestos-containing substances in the worksite by taking proper 
awareness course and deposit it in one area. Mark “danger” in that area so 
as others can also stay away from asbestos.
