About RTI
WHAT IS RTI ACT AND WHEN DID RTI BEGIN?
RTI stands for Right To Information Act. The RTI meaning is hidden in RTI full form that is Right To Information. As per RTI
Act India or Right To Information Act, Every citizen of India has the right to get information from govt online or by other
means. It can be state or central government departments and offices of India.
Under the RTI Act, any citizen can seek information from any public or government authority and the authority is liable to
respond within a period of 30 days to the application.
The main motto of the RTI is to authorize you by endorsing transparency in the functioning of the government and to
fight against dishonesty. It has been made by the legislation of Assembly of India on 15 June 2005. The Act came as a
result of 12 October 2005 and has been executed ever since to give information to crores of Indian people. Under the
Right To Information Act 2005, the citizen of India can seek any type of information from the government.
How to File RTI?
Every Indian ought to know about RTI filing. The procedure of the RTI file is very simple and stress-free. Write
the application or get it typed your choice on a paper in English, Hindi, and the official language of the state.
A number of states have arranged format for RTI applications. The general format that is preferred is:
Address RTI Application to the Public Information Officer (PIO) of the concerned department.
