guides.
In American English, the  per iod  ( o r  any  o ther  p u n c t ua t i o n  m a r k )   
occurs  before the quo ta t i on  marks,  whereas  in Bri t ish English, the   
converse is true.
When there are too  m a n y  exc la im po in ts  in a  text, each  one loses i ts  
impac t .  Ins tead of s t ress ing each  a rgument ,  i t  confuses the readers   
a n d  d imin ishes  the i m p o r t a n c e  of each  one.
Punctua t ion  mark i ngs  such as hyphens,  e m  dashes, a n d  en dashes
