Good news for all those who believe in highly relevant content, it could mean another drop in rankings for those who have not understood over optimisation.
IS SEO OVER-OPTIMISATION POSSIBLE
IS SEO OVER-OPTIMISATION POSSIBLE?
CAN YOU OVERDO SEO? THE OVER OPTIMISATION PENALTY!
When the news spread that search engine behemoth Google is working on a
search ranking penalty for Web Pages that quality for a new metric called
over-optimisation, every piece of SEO was under the scanner.
The SEO professionals and clients learned that Google has been working on
an algorithm tweak that will target websites that will qualify for over
optimisation.
Matt Cutts mentioned that the new over optimization penalty will become a
part of search results parameters.
The purpose is to “level the playing field,”
The idea is to create a level playing field.
That’s because there are sites with great content and poor SEO and these are
very relevant to the search engine users, and then there are those who are
doing good SEO with no-so-good content but tend to over-optimize as a
balancing act.
There are all those indulging in over optimisation or over SEO – versus those
writing great content and have great websites.
Why a level playing field?
The idea is to make the GoogleBot smarter, increase relevance and find
those who abuse the system, like using too many keywords on a page, or
exchange too many links or go beyond what you normally expect of good
SEO practices.
How is Google going to find pages with over optimisation?
It’s going to be difficult no doubt & brings us back to the basics of
On-page SEO, and the importance of inbound link relevancy as well.
What Google will also look for, is websites that have good content but zero
SEO, surprisingly high PR, and high SERP rankings.
While this is good news for all those who believe in websites with highly
relevant content, it could mean another drop in rankings for those who have
not understood the search engines move to increase relevancy since the last
Google SEO Algorithm update.
What is the difference between good SEO and bad SEO pages?
The answer lies in planning your on-page SEO right from the moment you
start with content strategy & planning. Any business cannot afford to ignore
the importance of being found on search engines given that it’s getting
difficult with each passing day. The earlier you begin with your website SEO
the better.
Getting Started with on-page SEO requires that you follow a strict process of
seo content writing along with updating the websites with respective
schemas and structured metadata.
