Introduction
SMS College of Arts and Science (SMSCAS) is a self-financing 
institution  affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, 
founded by the Cheran  Foundation Trust in 1991 to offer quality 
education with social responsibility  acknowledging holistic 
development. Catering to the need of the hour and  prevailing 
career opportunities, SMSCAS offers 16 Undergraduate and 4 Post  
Graduate degree programs.
To achieve quality in education, SMSCAS systematically organizes 
curricular  and co-curricular activities through student-supporting 
centers and clubs.
Committees are constituted to support the execution of all the tasks 
in a well-  organized manner for the holistic development of the 
institution.
To hone the talents of our sports students the Department of 
Physical  Education at SMSCAS has encouraged and trained the 
students in their  specialized events by creating tremendous 
opportunities. The Department of  Physical Education conducts 
many Inter-University, Inter-Collegiate, and Open  Tournaments in the 
field of indoor and outdoor sports and participating in the  All-India

L E G E Inter-University tournaments. The department coordinates games  
and sports activities of the other affiliated colleges of Bharathiar 
University,

To be a leading global academic institution that empowers the graduates to fulfill 
their holistic  needs of academic and professional passions and also mold them 
with better conduct and  character committed to social needs and national 
development.
To offer comprehensive academic programs s that are mutually reinforcing and 
emphasize high-  quality and creative instruction at the undergraduate, graduate, 
professional, and postgraduate  levels.
To strengthen and support a dynamic faculty dedicated to teaching, mentoring, 
research, and  creative and performing arts
To serve the society through coordinated village-wise outreach programs that 
will meet the  continuing educational needs, in accordance with the Institution's 
designated centers for  excellence status.
To ensure adequate level of infrastructure, equipped with latest technologies to 
adopt, promote  and disseminate eco-friendly practices.
