Beyond the physical discomfort, it also causes emotional stress, often worsening the symptoms. Ayurveda offers a holistic approach to managing psoriasis by addressing both body and mind. According to Ayurveda, psoriasis falls under the category of Kushta, caused by an imbalance in the body’s three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Specifically, Vata and Kapha often play a dominant role, trapping toxins, or Ama, in the skin. This leads to inflammation, scaling, and irritation. Triggers like stress, infections, cold weather, and an unhealthy lifestyle can make the condition flare up further.
