Are you looking for best commands to teach your Dog? There are many Dog
commands that you can teach your Dog even at home. Below are listed 4 of them.
01 — Sit
02 — Come
03 — Down
04 — Stay
01- Sit
The most basic command to teach your dog is "Sit". A dog who knows this
command will be much easier to control as compare to other dogs who are not
taught this command.
Here’s how you can teach your dog the “Sit” command:
1- Stand in front of your puppy and hold a treat close to your dogs' nose .
2- Move your hand up and allow his head to follow the treat and causing his bottom
to lower.
3- Wait for him to sit – say “yes” and give him a treat.
02- Come
Second important command for your dog to learn is “come.” This command is easy
to teach your dog and will help keep your dog out of trouble.
Here’s how you can teach your dog the “Come” command:
1- Sit in front of your puppy with a treat and say the word “come.”
2- Each time when you say “come” give your puppy a treat.
03- Down
You can use the "Down" command to get your dog to stay in one place for a period
of time. This command is little more difficult dog training commands to teach.
Here’s how you can teach your dog the “Down” command:
1- Sit in front of your dog and show him a treat.
2- Lower the treat slowly to the ground. Dog will follow the same movement with
his body.
3- When your dog reaches the Down position, say “Down,” give him the treat, and
don't forget to praise him.
04- Stay
Similar to the “Sit” command, the “Stay” cue will help make your dog easier to
control. But before attempting to teach your dog this command, make sure that
your dog is an expert at the “Sit” cue. If your dog is not perfect in Sit command,
take more time and practice that first.
Here’s how you can teach your dog the “Stay” command:
1- First find a quiet place to practice, and then ask your dog to “Sit.”
2- Cue your dog into a sit and then open the palm of your hand in front of you, and
say “Stay.”
3- Take a few steps back and if he stays there reward him with a treat.
4- Gradually increase the number of steps you take before giving the treat.
