Find the IP Address of HP Printer
• You will need its distinctive IP address to launch your
HP printer on a network. There are different
techniques of finding an HP printer’s IP address.
• Step 1: Take your network administrator’s printer
name or check the tag that is stuck to the printer.
• Each PC on the network must have its own distinctive
name, and network administrators frequently generate
labels; labels showing each printer’s name to make it
easier for employees to find the correct HP printer.
• Step 2: Simultaneously press the Windows and’ r’
keys.
• Step 3: Enter’ CMD’ in the box that becomes
noticeable before pressing’ OK.’
• Step 4: Take note of the IP address that comes in’
ping printername’ at the prompt. You get the IP
address from the HP printer from moment to time.
• Step 5: On the exterior surface of the device, press
the’ Menu’ button and scroll until you see the’
Information’ menu.
• Step 6: Use the arrow keys to scroll through
the possibilities until you notice’ Print
Configuration Page.’
• Step 7: To print a configuration page, click the’
Select’ button.
• This setup page must maintain a record of the
HP printer’s IP address.
IP Address: General idea
• An Internet Protocol Address (IP Address) is a number sticker
provided to each gadget linked to a computer network using the
Internet Protocol for communication purposes. An IP address
has two primary tasks: identification of the host or network
interface and addressing the place.
• Version 4 of the Internet Protocol (IPv4) usually reflects a 32-bit
IP address. However, due to the expansion of the Internet and
the reduction of existing IPv4 addresses, a new version of IP
(IPv6) was created in 1995, which employs 128 bits for the IP
address, and was set as the benchmark in December 1998. A
conclusive protocol definition was released in July 2017.
• Deployment of IPv6 occurred since the mid-2000s.
As a rule, IP addresses, such as 172.16.254.1 in IPv4,
and 2001:db8:0:1234:0:567:8:1 in IPv6, are observed
and displayed in human-understandable notations.
• In characteristic CIDR notation, the dimensions of the
address routing prefix are called by attaching suffixes
to the address with the number of significant bits;
take, for example, 192.168.1.15/24, which is equal to
the traditionally used subnet mask255.255.255.0.
• Internationally, the Internet Assigned Numbers
Authority (IANA) and five regional Internet
registries (RIRs) administer the IP address space.
The RIRs are responsible for assigning clients and
local Internet registries, such as Internet service
providers, in their nominated regions.
• IANA assigned approximately 16.8 million IPv4
million plates to RIRs. Each ISP or personal network
administrator provides each machine connected to
its network a distinct IP address.
IP versions:
• Two Internet Protocol variants are currently in
daily use. In 1983, ARPANET (the Internet
forerunner) used the earliest version of the
Internet Protocol, i.e. Internet Protocol
Version 4 (IPv4). Commercial implementation
of IPv6 technology in manufacturing started in
the mid-2000s; the practical implementation
of IPv6 understanding was up to that moment
in multiple testing phases.
• These two variants of the Internet Protocol are
currently being used. Each version has a distinct
address scheme in relation to latest technical
modifications. The standard IP address even now
stands for the addresses defined by IPv4 due to the
widespread presence of IPv4.
• There was a break between IPv4 and IPv6 versions;
this break in the proceedings was due to the 1979
transfer of version 5 to the Internet Stream Protocol
experimental protocol. It was never, however, for IPv5.
