Exosomes are extracellular vesicles that contain the elements of the cells that produce them, such as proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, RNA, DNA, and metabolites. They are actually taken up by distant cells, where they perform diverse functions and exhibit distinct behaviors. It is utilized to keep the cells in a state of equilibrium by eliminating unwanted elements. It can deliver a variety of therapeutic payloads, including as short interfering RNAs, chemotherapeutic drugs, antisense oligonucleotides, and immune modulators, to a specific target.
