When QuickBooks is unable to interact with or build a connection
with the company file, the "cannot communicate with the company
file" error box shows on the screen. The error notice indicates that
the user's computer's program is configured to allow shared access
to the company file; yet, QuickBooks software fails to communicate
with the company file for some reason.

Solution 1: Firewall Configuration
● Find the start option.
● In the search box, type Windows Firewall.
● The firewall window will be displayed.
● You must now select the Advanced Settings button.
● Following that, the user must right-click on the inbound rules and select the new rule.
● Find the port choice and then press the Next button.
● After that, the user must ensure that TCP is selected.
● Moving on, fill up the specific local ports field with the ports required for the QuickBooks year edition.
● The next step is to click the Next button after entering the port number.
● Check that you have decided to allow the connection and then re-click on the Next option.
● If prompted, confirm that you have marked all of the profiles.
● When finished, click the Next button.
● After that, click Create a Rule and then give it a name.
● Select the Finish option.
