N Chandrababu Naidu, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), recently unveiled the new TDP headquarters in Mangalagiri. The event was attended by several TDP MLA's and party workers. The new headquarters is expected to become the nerve center of the TDP's activities in Andhra Pradesh. The TDP has a long and illustrious history in Andhra Pradesh. The party was founded by NTR, the legendary actor-turned-politician, in 1982. NTR led the party to a historic victory in the 1983 Assembly elections, which marked the beginning of the TDP's political dominance in the state. Since then, the TDP has been in power in Andhra Pradesh for several terms, and has established itself as one of the most important political parties in the state.
