Why Choose Suryadatta Law College for Your LLB
Why Choose Suryadatta Law College for Your LLB in Pune
As someone who has spent decades in legal
education and guided hundreds of law students
across Pune, I often get asked by aspiring law
students and their families, “Which is the best place
to pursue an LLB in Pune?” Without hesitation, my
answer is always the same—Suryadatta Law College
(SLC). The legal profession is no longer confined to
courtrooms. It spans industries such as corporate
governance, cyber law, human rights, media, and
international relations. In such a fast-evolving legal
landscape, choosing the right college is the
foundation of your entire career. So, let me walk
you through why Suryadatta Law College is an ideal
choice for your LLB degree in Pune.
Strong Academic Curriculum Aligned with Industry Needs
One of the first things you should look for in a law
school is the strength and relevance of its
curriculum. At SLC, the LLB and integrated
BA LLB programs are affiliated with Savitribai Phule
Pune University and approved by the Bar Council
of India (BCI)—ensuring you receive a robust,
updated, and recognized legal education. What I
find most impressive is how the college doesn’t
merely stick to outdated textbook learning. The
syllabus includes emerging areas of law like Cyber
Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Environmental
Law, and Human Rights, which are highly sought
after in the current legal job market.
Strategic Location and Strong Legal Ecosystem in Pune
Pune is increasingly becoming a hub for legal
education and professional opportunities. Its
proximity to Mumbai (home to the Bombay High
Court and top law firms) gives students access to a
wide legal network. Suryadatta Law College is located
in an accessible, student-friendly area in Pune and
surrounded by a legal ecosystem that includes district
courts, legal NGOs, government bodies, and corporate
houses. This makes internships, guest lectures, and
practical training easy to access and apply for.
According to India Today’s Education Survey 2024,
Pune ranks among the top 5 cities for legal education
due to its growing infrastructure, increasing student
population, and exposure to modern law practices.
