Steps/Stages in Selection Process for Group-
1
The Group-1 exams takes place in three stages:
Preliminary Exam (Group-1):
1. Its an objective type paper with multiple-choice questions.
2. The exam is of 300 marks in total, and the minimum passing score
are:
(i)Reserved category (OBC, SC/ST) – (90/300) marks.
(ii)General category – (120/300) marks.
3. No negative marking.
Main Exam & Interview:
1. Exam is in descriptive (written) format.
2. And it is of four papers:
a) Paper I – Tamil Eligibility Test (100 marks)
-Minimum passing score are: (40/100) marks.
-Paper I marks will not be included in overall ranking.
b) Paper II, III & IV – General studies (250marks – each paper)
-Interview & record for 100 marks (not included for qualifying
marks)
-Reserved category (OBC, SC/ST) – (255/850) marks.
-General category – (340/850) marks
