Hawa Mahal
• Hawa Mahal, originally built in 799 as a vantage point for the ladies 
of the royal household, is a romantic pink sandstone fortress 
cascading over the streets of Jaipur. The landmark ‘honeycomb’ is 
five stories high and made up of 152 windows nestled into rounded 
latticed balconies being a great example of the strong yet delicate 
Rajput architecture in all its splendour. 
City Palace
• City Place, located just behind the Hawa Mahal, is the centrepiece 
of the city and includes Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal as well 
as a number of other structures. The palace is built with highly 
trained architectural care, combining Rajput, Mogul and European 
styles of architecture. It is another stunning example of Jaipur’s 
royal influences which in today’s time showcases historical relics 
and art from the city and the region.
Jantar Mantar
• Jantar Mantar is an observatory located in the heart of Jaipur 
whose development was taken care of by Maharaja Sawai Jai 
Singh, who envisioned and executed the highly organised city of 
Jaipur. The observatory is a wonder to artists and architects with its 
large-scale geometric formations  jutting out independently with 
staircases that lead to nowhere.
