TATA MUMBAI MARATHON REPORT 
LAUNCH
A new "Impact Report" on "The Socio-Economic and Health Impact of Tata Mumbai Marathon  
2020" that was released by IISM was made possible in large part by the support of Procam  
International. Under the professional supervision and assistance of the Procam International  
staff, the students successfully published the report.
This report has taken a comprehensive approach to the marathon, its relationship to  
socioeconomic variables, and many other elements affecting Mumbaikars' health.
The Joint Managing Director of Procam International, Mr. Vivek Singh, praised the IISM 
students'  efforts in creating this report. Kudos to our talented students for working tirelessly to 
unearth the  data to support the report. Mr. Amitava Pal, Associate Dean, IISM, provided expert 
support in the  publication of the impact study.

 VOLUNTEERING ACTIVITY
IISM students volunteering @ MAHARASHTRA STATE OLYMPICS 2022-23
IISM believes that in the sporting industry, knowledge cannot be gained by being confined 
within  the four walls of the classroom. Hence, IISM takes the students out of the classroom 
and into the  field for volunteer opportunities, where they learn the best.
To help them understand the challenges a sports management expert faces while executing a  
mega event, IISM sent 19 students to volunteer at the Maharashtra State Olympics 2022–23. Of  
the total 19 students, 12 were deployed in Pune and 7 were deployed in Mumbai for the  
basketball leg of the Maharashtra State Olympic Games.
The students were assigned numerous tasks, which they executed flawlessly. These included  
looking after the athletes' accreditation, managing the crowd and VIPs during the opening  
ceremony, completing the awards ceremony, assisting in the torch relay event at the Gateway of  
India, event operations, transportation of the athletes and sports kit distribution.
Everyone praised the students for their diligence and commitment to their work.

 PROUD WINNERS OF IISM
DEVANSHI MALI
The commitment of Ms. Devanshi Mali, a second-year MSM student, to Mallakhamb is 
unrivalled.  She has won numerous medals at various sporting events across India. Over the 
past 15 years, she  has continually shown that she is in Mallakhamb to win and nothing less.
Adding yet another accomplishment to her resume, she won a gold medal in Mallakhamb at 
the  Maharashtra State Olympic Games 2022–23. She is currently planning to win at the Khelo 
India  University Games and the All India Inter University Games in 2023 after taking home the 
gold  medal.

 PROUD WINNERS OF IISM
FOOTBALL TEAM AT PARAKRAM'23
Football has always played an important role in our students' lives. From volunteering at the 
FIFA  World Cup 2022 Qatar to winning football matches at sports festivals, our students have 
always  taken advantage of every opportunity to stay as close to the football field as possible.
It was therefore a no-brainer for them to participate In Parakram'23, a sports festival hosted by  
Nirma University's Institute of Management (IMNU), and give it their all.
Our football team defeated IMNU in the final football match at Parakram'23. During the match,  
the students demonstrated their superior football skills and defeated the home team 6-0.
Such victories motivate them to continue competing in more fests and improving their game.

 MASTER CLASS SESSION

The co-founder of the SportsGrad podcast, Mr. Reuben Williams, came for a master class 
session  at the IISM campus. The SportsGrad Podcast, which swiftly rose to the top of iTunes 
Australia, was  introduced by Mr. Williams as the session's opening example.
During the session, Mr. Williams spoke about how the kids should embrace new challenges and  
seize all available possibilities. He also said that the students would only discover their ideal 
field  by looking into fresh alternatives.
We appreciate Mr. Williams visiting our campus to share his knowledge with the kids.

 RISING SPORTS STARS OF INDIA
IISM students breathe sports and are staunch sports enthusiasts. Our students come  
from various fields of expertise as well as are active sports players from club, state,  
national and international level. Here are some of our students who are no less but 
rising  stars of India.
Agnes Jeena
| Cricketer
Isn't life about metamorphosis? Seeing dreams and 
then  turning them into reality.
One such transformation happened in the life of the  
IISM’s second-year student Agnes Jeena. She has set an 
 example of passion and dedication for she got selected 
 to represent the Mumbai University Team at such a  
young age.
Here Agnes Jeena is sharing her experience, inspiration  
and journey:
“I always liked sports but when I was 14 when I started  
developing a crazy passion for cricket. My biggest
inspiration to get into cricket is AB De Villiers.
Cricket helped me to develop a lot of crucial skills like patience and critical thinking. It taught 
 me that it's not always about winning but having the preparation and will to win. I started 
by  playing for my school when I was in 9th STD under my coach Mr Rahul Giri and now I 
represent  the RG Girls Cricket Club.
Being a sports enthusiast, I decided to make my career in the sports industry and explore 
what  happens behind the scenes of a sporting event, and that's when I found out about 
IISM.
IISM is where I got the opportunity to begin my bachelor's degree in sports management 
and  learn in-depth about the sports industry.”

Ms. Reema 
Dsouza
PGPSM
Ms. Reema Dsouza, our student pursuing a Post Graduate Program in Sports Management, 
says,  "This has been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me, and I've done my best in whatever 
work  I've been assigned, and I'm pleased with the results.”
Reema Dsouza was one of the twelve students who got the opportunity to work at the FIFA 
World  Cup 2022 Qatar. Special thanks to Cutting Edge Pvt. Ltd. for providing them with the 
opportunity to  make this dream possible for the students.
