The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, founded in 
1956, is  the ICSE's governing body. ICSE, or as most Indians know it: 
the CBSE  replacement, was a popular option of boards until recently 
when IB took over.  ICSE has been a forerunner in high-level learning and 
continues to improve its  curricula and methods to assist students to 
achieve both in and out of the  classroom.

While the curriculum is radically different from the CBSE's, the structure 
is  nearly the same at the best ICSE schools in Kolkata. There are a 
limited amount  of subjects to choose from, and there is essentially 
little flexibility in subject  selection. The curriculum, on the other hand, 
is significantly more extensive and  sophisticated. ICSE also includes 
mandatory SUPW projects in its curriculum.

Education Levels
In contrast to CBSE,  ICSE students must take three subjects in 10th 
grade:  English, a second language, and Geography, Civics, and History. 
Electives include  physical education, arts, computer applications, 
environmental science,  mathematics, economics, and science. Class 12 
is likewise segregated into  commerce, arts, and science streams, with 
courses comparable to CBSE class 12.
Subjects Available
With English as the first language, ICSE provides the same conventional 
set of  topics like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Civics, History, 
and Maths, as  well as a second language, which is often Hindi, with 
some schools giving French  as an option.
Co-curricular Activities
Because ICSE places a greater emphasis on the balanced development 
of pupils  in its schools than CBSE, most schools will provide co-curricular 
activities. Some  of the most prevalent activities at ICSE schools are 
public speaking, sports, and  music. Other extracurricular activities that 
students might participate in include  theatre, scouting, and 
entrepreneurship-related activities.
Who Should Take 
It?
Low cost ICSE schools in Kolkata are appropriate for all types of pupils. It 
strikes  the ideal mix between complex coursework, general grooming, 
and  extracurricular activities. However, if you are interested in a job in 
Humanities  or Management, this curriculum may provide you with an 
edge because of the  intricacy of the learnings it requires and the high 
emphasis on language and  communication in ICSE institutions.
